My final project is going to be a night stand that I can use
to put both my television and Xbox on. I want to build the stand with a square
base most likely 2’x2’ and would like it to stand roughly 30”-36” tall. Inside
the stand I plan to have a shelf that would evenly divide the space in between.
For the legs of the stand I plan to use 2”x2” boards and will need
approximately 12-15 feet of this in order to construct the legs. As for the
shelf and surface, a simple sheet of plywood should suffice. A sheet of 4’x8’
plywood should be enough to cover both the surface and shelf of my stand.
2”x2” boards (12-15ft)- $10-$15
4’x8’ plywood sheet- $20-$40 depending on the quality
Screws- $10
Total costs: $40-$65
Is this different from the picture posted earlier? Reconsider 2x2 legs. The quality of 2x2 is not very good. A $20 sheet of plywood will be a pretty low grade. If cost is an issue, consider splitting a sheet w/ a classmate.
